New VHD available from Microsoft – Forefront Identity Manager 2010 Rc1. This VHD is really useful to get you going with FIM, because clean FIM installation and configuration can take pretty much time. You need to install all FIM components (and believe me, there are a lot of components), configure provisioning etc, etc. Anyway, now with FIM 2010 VHD available for download, you can try all features:

Did anybody else have a problem running the VHD under Hyper V? Specifically, the VM runs fine up until the Windows Server 2008 splash screen; after that, the guest machine's screen just goes black (according to ntbtlog.txt, everything goes well until Windows tries to load nettun.inf). Most likely it's some sort of hardware problem on my part, even though other VMs run fine – if someone else had this problem I'd be glad if you could drop a comment here… thanks!
I am having problems trying to download this, keeps telling me that it is no longer available?

Hy. Yes, this VHD is not available anymore because FIM is in RTM phase, not RC. As far as I know RTM VHD is not available for download. But you can use Technet Virtual LABS where you can try all kind of things on Live FIM machine. You can find all FIM virtual labs here.
